Who we are
Thank you so much for visiting us. Here’s a little bit about your favorite local café and how it started.
Chef Rob is a Yankee transplant/converted Texan for life. He’s a local Culinary Institute of America graduate with a passion for simple and delicious food. Monica (Rob's better half), handles the business and their growing family. She is a homegrown local TV personality, and also a pretty amazing chef — her soups frequent the menu. Together they put it all on the line to bring you — yes you — RoMo’s Café.
The intent is to bring the best, freshest, local ingredients to you in all of their glory with refined but casual food. The Café itself (Ro – Rob / Mo – Monica), is a venture more than 30 years in the making. Ro n’ Mo both come from very humble beginnings. Both started off their professional careers in the Military, serving at Lackland and Randolph AFB. After all their life experience and hard work, they jumped off their stable life cliff and opened the café on a mountain of loans and a dream.
Rob and Monica have both traveled all over the country and the world, hoping to bring the experiences of their culinary travels to you on a consistent basis. Make yourself at home, and please enjoy the food. Take a couple of extra seconds to savor every bite. It is worth it! We are sure you will taste all of the experience, effort and love put into every item we serve.
It is truly our pleasure and life’s goal to call San Antonio our home and serve the local community great food. We are here to serve you and need your support. Enjoy yourself, and if there is anything you would like to see on the menu — maybe something from your childhood that would make your heart smile to have again — let us know, and at his earliest convenience Rob will give his best to please.
